POC has unveiled a limited-edition Procen Air EF Pro Cycling helmet, sporting the classic team pink color scheme, designed to enhance your aerodynamic gains while boosting visibility. This helmet walks the line between an aerodynamic time trial helmet and a more versatile aero road racing helmet. It features a sleek aero shell, reminiscent of a time trial helmet, paired with a seamlessly integrated visor and half-ear covers, minimizing aerodynamic drag.
To ensure adequate ventilation, it incorporates three forward-facing vents and generous internal channels, preventing overheating. POC cleverly blends the time trial inspiration with practicality, making it a viable option for road riding and even gravel racing. \The POC Procen Air has been my go-to helmet for the past 10 months, and I've been quite impressed with its performance. While I don't have to look at it while riding, I can confidently say it's a helmet that delivers. As someone who always feels the heat, I was curious about its ventilation capabilities. It adequately cools me on days with temperatures below 18°C, but anything hotter, especially with the visor in place, leads to overheating. Interestingly, removing the visor significantly improves ventilation, which I do for most climbs. The visor is easily removable while riding and securely snaps back in place with its three embedded magnets. \The Procen Air truly shines during autumn and spring rides, making it ideal for both road and gravel adventures. The soft ear cowls effectively muffle wind noise while allowing you to hear your surroundings clearly. The visor enhances visibility and surprisingly reduces the sensation of speed by keeping wind off a considerable portion of your face. Be aware, though, that it might be making you ride faster than you realize. Beyond its performance, the Procen Air has evolved into my preferred choice for cold winter rides and even rainy days. Paired with a thin windproof cap, it provides unparalleled comfort during those frigid winter rides.
