A man was arrested after police reportedly caught him smuggling nearly 50 diamonds in his anus.

Eusebio Padilla, 23, was taken into police custody after officers reportedly discovered he was carrying 44 of the precious stones inside himself Sunday in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Padilla reportedly removed the the diamonds from his rectum during a traffic stop for riding a motorcycle without a license plate. An arresting officer patted Padilla down after he was found to be carrying a knife, ultimately leading Padilla to produce the hidden gems ‘from his butt crack’ and drop them on the ground, according to theAccording to court documents, Padilla admitted to investigators that the stones were likely stolen.

He told the arresting officer that he got the diamonds from his uncle who ‘usually has stolen items’ and he was planning to trade them for drugs.‘Based on the uncommon behavior of concealing diamonds in packaging commonly used to store narcotics, and concealing it in his butt cavity, and the attempt to get rid of the item, it was apparent to me that Padilla must have known the baggy of diamonds was stolen,’ the officer wrote in a complaint.Padilla was taken to the Metropolitan Detention Center.

He has been charged with tampering with evidence, receiving stolen property, as well as some traffic violations.
