St Helens Road in Bolton was cordoned off for several hours
Emergency services rushed to St Helens Road near Daubhill after a crash between a cyclist and a car at around 6.40pm on Wednesday . An air ambulance was also called out to the scene as the main road was taped off.
In a statement issued this morning, Greater Manchester Police said a man - aged in his 40s - was taken to hospital from the scene. He suffered minor injuries, a force spokesperson added.No arrests were made and enquiries into the crash are ongoing. After the incident yesterday, St Helens was taped off between the A6145 Hulton Lane to Moorlands View as emergency crews worked at the scene.
The cordon remained in place for a number of hours into the evening for crash investigation work to take place. Pictures showed a car windscreen left smashed within the cordon, as well as a damaged pedal bike on the ground at the roadside. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 6.40pm last night , we were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a cyclist on St Helens Road in Bolton.
"A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with minor injuries and no arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing."
