A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault
Police were called to reports of the incident in Holmes Street shortly before 12.30pm on Friday . A 42-year-old man was found to have suffered serious injuries after being attacked.
However, his injuries are not "life-threatening or changing", according to Greater Manchester Police . .Eyewitnesses reported seeing forensic officers combing a house on the street, a short distance from Rochdale town centre, earlier today . Pictures from the scene show a cordon in place at the front of the property and two police vehicles parked outside.
In a statement, a spokesperson for GMP said: "We were called yesterday shortly before 12:30pm. . Injuries are serious but thankfully not life threatening or changing."
