Six people have now been arrested after the discovery was made in April following a 'concern for welfare'

Police have made another arrest after the remains of a baby were found in the garden of a home in Wigan.

An investigation was launched and five people - aged between 20 and 70 - were arrested on suspicion of concealing a death; and unlawful burial. They all remain on police bail while the extensive probe continues.In an update issued today , more than two months on, Greater Manchester Police revealed that a 71-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the incident. He was arrested today on suspicion of preventing lawful burial, in connection with an ongoing investigation.

The Manchester Evening News previously revealed how the baby's family was known to social services. A Home Office post-mortem has now taken place, but test are still being carried out. "Our investigation is incredibly complex, with several detectives and specialists solely dedicated to establish the full circumstances as to what has happened.
