The former police constable is alleged to have told her 'you want to watch yourself' and 'see what happens now'

A Nottinghamshire Police officer has resigned after allegedly telling a barmaid “you want to watch yourself” and “see what happens now” after being cut off for being too drunk. Former police constable Fraser Beresford was off-duty on a night out with colleagues at Mojo, in Thurland Street, when he used threatening and abusive language towards a member of staff, a gross misconduct hearing was told.

Some of those colleagues told the hearing he appeared “very intoxicated” and was sick into his drink at The Stage before moving on to Mojo just before midnight. Staff refused to serve Mr Beresford at around 2am, instead offering him a glass of water. "That was when he was like ‘excuse me’. He was not happy with that, he completely changed as a person."

Simon Riley, from the force's police federation, read out an apology from Mr Beresford. “I think I was extremely stressed and mismanaged and not supported during my time in the police," he said.
