The case against William Tyrrell’s foster mother has been further hampered, with homicide detectives investigating his disappearance asking the director of public prosecutions to pause its review of evidence against her.
Police in 2023 sensationally recommended criminal charges against William’s foster mother to the director of public prosecutions, alleging he died by accidentally falling from a balcony and she covered it up.recommending the woman be charged with perverting the course of justice and interfering with a corpse.William Tyrrell disappeared from Kendall on the Mid North Coast in 2014.
The coronial inquest into William’s disappearance and presumed death began in 2019 and was due to hand down its findings three years ago.In February this year, the inquest was further delayed because it was awaiting the decision of the office of the director of public prosecutions. It will resume in November.
