There will be an increased police presence in the city centre during this weekend's Manchester Pride festival in order to provide "reassurance" Greater Manchester Police chiefs say.

The recent response to national disorder has meant GMP's LGBTQ+ network had 'insufficient time' to finalise arrangements to be involved in the colourful procession through the city.
