Another closure due to rising costs 😔

Wild Flours, specialising in gluten-free produce, took over the old Easiephit shoe shop unit on Duke Street earlier this year.Selling a range of bread, cakes, biscuits and pastries, the cafe was an extension of the business as the team already operates a bakery in Giffnock.

But as energy bills skyrocket, and the cost-of-living crisis continues to make products and packaging harder to purchase, the team have made the"difficult decision" to close.A spokesperson said:"It is with a heavy heart we announce the closing of Wild Flours East a short six months after opening its doors."The main one being rising costs of ingredients, packaging, fuel and electricity, which are no news to anyone as we are all being affected.

"To try and absorb these in one unit is extremely difficult but to do so in two isn’t viable at all for a business with such tight margins."
