Bowdon Cricket, Hockey and Squash Club say they have listened to neighbours' concerns

An elite sports club and nearby residents engaged in a war of words over the ‘boom, boom, boom’ of music from outdoor events have been told to work together in the interest of harmony. Bowdon Cricket, Hockey and Squash Club in Altrincham was granted a new premises licence by Trafford ’s licensing sub-committee, but only with a raft of conditions officials voluntarily agreed to.

'We have listened to concerns' Director of the club, Michael Egerton, said it was a not-for-profit organisation and had been established as a cricket club since 1856 and for hockey since 1887. He said: “It’s a battle to raise funds, but we have a bar and we rent the club out to other organisations. We have cricket, and intermittently we accept booking for evening events.
