Is Banksy walking the streets of Glasgow!?👀

The mystery artist, whose work sells for millions of pounds, opened a solo exhibition, the 'Cut and Run', at Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art last week. And now, new Banksy like artwork has appeared just yards away.Crowds gathered this morning on Springfield Court, located just off of Buchanan Street in Glasgow, to take a peak at the art.

The exhibition is being held at Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art, and the reason for this is because Banksy's "favourite" UK artwork sits just right outside. The Duke of Wellington statue located on Royal Exchange Square remains the artist's favourite, due to the cone on its head which has rested for over 40 years, despite anyone's efforts to remove it. During the pandemic someone even placed a facemask over the statue's face, it's an ongoing joke amongst locals and has became a popular landmark in the city.

Locals speculate as it is unclear if the artwork is a real Banksy, we may never know as the artist said their street art pieces made on walls or doors will not be verified or receive a certificate. Commercial work which is sold will be verified through the artist's official website, Pest Control. The world-famous mystery artist may strike again as the exhibition runs until August 28th. Opening hours are 9am to 11pm on Sunday to Thursday and 9am to 5am Friday and Saturday - tickets can be bought here.
