Okamoto Laboratory develops new techniques combining physicochemical and microbiology to tackle unsolved biological problems.

At the National Institute for Materials Science, one of the world's top material science laboratories, our laboratory is engaged in highly interdisciplinary scientific research dealing with projects from genes to nanomaterials to data science, providing a unique research environment in which researchers who aspire to explore emerging and multidisciplinary fields can grow.

We seek a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our group. The successful candidate will engage in research to understand biological electron transfer mechanisms using microbiology or bioinformatics using advanced high-throughput electrochemical techniques. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative and innovative environment and contribute to significant scientific advancements in microbiology.

This position is for a project related to microbially-influenced iron corrosion. Still, candidates with a strong interest in the lab's research are encouraged to apply, even if they lack specific experience in microbial corrosion.Name, Affiliation and Contact Details of Two RefereesI'd like to receive career advice, updates and information from Nature Careers and Nature Portfolio, part of Springer Nature Limited.
