Staff Reports Rehobeth’s softball team once again dominated the Class 5A, Area 3 Tournament, winning three games by a combined 34-2 total, including 13-2 in the championship game over Headland.All 11 straight area tournament titles for Rehobeth have been in Class 5A. It will be the last, at least for now, in the classification as the Rebels move up to Class 6A next year.
Andrews was 3-for-3 with a double and three runs batted in and Martin and Williams were both 2-for-3 with three RBI. Martin and Williams each belted a two-run homer. Martin added a triple and Williams a double.Alex Cobb was the winning pitcher, working four of the five innings. She allowed three hits and two runs and struck out two. AG Massey pitched the final inning, recording one strikeout.
Jazzy Andrews and Massey both added two hits with Andrews hitting a two-run homer and Massey a solo homer. Andrews finished with three runs batted in. Mattox Richards also had two hits and Brooke Nowlin had a two-run single. Both Regan Valenzuela and Preslie Taylor added a hit and RBI each. Kynlee Watkins, Kiley Jenkins and Ava Allsup all had two hits and two runs batted in to lead the Headland offense. Greathouse also had two hits. Stormi Clemmons and Layla Goodwin both added a hit and RBI.Headland 5, Eufaula 1: Kynlee Watkins and Shaylee Greathouse combined to limit Eufaula to four hits and a run.
