Preston City Council has given the go-ahead to the Harris Investment Group ’s plans to renovate The Harris Institute , a Grade II* listed building. The renovation plans, designed by Preston-based architect Studio John Bridge, include transforming the building into a vibrant, multi-use space which will serve the community, attract visitors, and honor the legacy of this iconic landmark.
The Harris Institute, which has been standing empty in Avenham Lane for more than a decade, will be turned into a state-of-the-art conference venue, a professional exhibition space for local artists, and a unique holiday let. The Harris Investment Group is committed to working with local stakeholders, Historic England, and future occupiers to ensure the development becomes a source of pride for Preston
