Preston Guild Hall could return to glory with 'live music, comedians and snooker'

Preston residents have told LancsLive they want to see live music including new acts take centre stage when the Preston Guild Hall reopens its doors.

With the venue due to reopen for on a large scale for the first time later this year, we spoke to those living in the city and visitors to see what events they wanted to see lined up. Grimsargh resident, Brian Simm, is another who's keen to see the Guild Hall brought back to full use. He said: "I know it's been closed for a very long time. I don't mind what but I'd be happy to see it open again.

Paul Keighley has lived in Preston for 14 years and hopes the venue can cater for a wider variety of events as well as big acts. He said: "I remember back in the day there was a good local film club. You could go and see independent and foreign films, they had cheap popcorn and it was a nice experience."
