Preston City Council said it's believed RAAC is present in the roof panels of the Grand Hall and Charter Theatre within the Guild Hall
Preston's Guild Hall has been hit with a fresh closure setback due to fears over potentially dangerous crumbling concrete.
It comes as the stage was set for the first entertainment event at Guild Hall since the venue was mothballed more than four years ago. The Preston Weekender, which was due to be hosted last month, was rearranged for November 18 and 19.In a statement, Preston City Council said a "small number of future events were planned for this year" and they are currently "in discussion with the organisers about these".
"As a responsible Council, the safety of the public and our colleagues must be our number one priority. The venues themselves are not currently in use, but we have been working inside both on a range of safety and associated works.
