With the left-leaning press finally catching up with what the rest of us already knew – Jacinta Nampijinpa Price is a rock star – it’s time to consider what the future might hold for this tremendously brave, strong, articulate and principled Australian.

Given this, could she one day be Leader of the Liberal-Nationals Coalition and Prime Minister of Australia? Country Party leaders in the role of Deputy Prime Minister have from time-to-time been sworn in as Prime Minister in a caretaker context such as Earle Page when Prime Minister Joseph Lyons died in office , and John McEwen when Harold Holt similarly died in office .
So Senator Nampijinpa Price would need to find a seat in the lower House, that was a Liberal seat, unless the Liberal Party room were to defy some 80 years of history and elect a Nationals MP as their leader, which is highly unlikely on a numbers basis alone let alone the politics of the senior Coalition member permitting the junior to elect the leader. John Gorton, for example, moved from the Senate to the lower House to become Prime Minister only to be quickly replaced by Billy McMahon.
As an aside, were she to stay with the Nationals, she could potentially become Deputy Prime Minister - a welcome outcome for the Coalition and a great one for the nation. Which leads us neatly to the current Leader of the Opposition, Peter Dutton, who continues to demonstrate he is a leader with the values, temperament, skills and strength of the likes of Howard and Abbott, who absolutely deserves to be Prime Minister.
Extending this hypothetical of hypotheticals, were Senator Price to successfully move from the upper house to the lower, as a Liberal, she would then need to convince the Liberal Party room to elect her as Deputy or Leader.
