Prominent Perth bikie gang member Troy Mercanti faces court for allegedly raping and assaulting a woman at his northern suburbs home.
He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance at which his lawyer has indicated he may make a bail application.
Police yesterday raided a property owned by Mercanti's mother on Brodrick Street in Karrinyup, taking Mr Mercanti into custody. His lawyer, Paul Holmes, said he would be making a bail application for his client but needed to gather more material first.At a recent hearing into another matter involving former Rebels Bikie chief Aaron Karl Labrook, Mercanti was described as a member of the Mongols bikie club.
