The Propain Barney Kids MTB rolls up on 16' wheels for 3-6 Year-Olds, or children anywhere between 95 cm and 115 cm tall
The Propain Barney is aimed at 3-6 year olds, or kids that are anywhere between 95 cm and 115 cm tall. Retailing at € 499, the Barney is a fairly high-end children’s bike, kitted out with mechanical disc brakes and contact point components from Sixpack, featuring ergonomics designed specifically for small humans. At this age, it doesn’t need to be complicated, so the Barney has a single-speed drivetrain. No actual weight is provided, but Propain say the aluminum frame is lightweight.
For children age 5-11 years , there is the Dreckspatz Hardtail or the Frechdax Full Suspension Bike, both of which feature 20″ wheels. These two are updated for 2023 with the following key features:Customizable with 2 frame colors and 4 component colorsSensitive fork with carbon reinforced crownThe Propain Frechdax gets a specially-tuned extra sensitive RockShox Monarch shock
“Our Kids Bikes are an important and integral part of PROPAIN. The Frechdax was originally developed in 2012 as a special project for my own son, but pretty quickly it became clear that not only our own kids have a need for a real mountain bike in the right size. We are very happy to now pass on the knowledge from 10 years of kids mountain bike development to the next generation.
