Marston's puts 5 Nottinghamshire pubs up for sale – see full list
Marston's has today put five Nottinghamshire pubs up for sale. They are part of 61 hostelries nationwide the pub group says are non-core venues.
The pubs are available to purchase individually, in small groups or as a whole package, say the Mirror. There are two in Nottingham, two in Mansfield and one in Newark. Pubs have been hit hard by rising costs which has forced them to raise prices. Judith Rafique, head of estates at Marston's, said the move would allow the pub group to focus on its "strategic objectives" and "maximise returns" across its core sites.Marston's upped the price of a pint by between 20p and 45p last year. The pub chain said the reason for the increase was down to "soaring energy prices" and "operating costs".
Almost 400 pubs in England and Wales closed their doors in 2022, according to the Caterer. Analysis of official government data by real estate adviser Altus Group found that the overall number of pubs fell from 40,173 in December 2021 to 39,787 at the end of 2022.Crates & Grapes, MansfieldFull list of UK pubs to be sold off by Marston's Read next:
