Having a happy hour at 9am is plain dangerous 🍺
A pub is under fire for offering Britain’s earliest happy hour with cut-price booze being sold at 9am.
Once happy hour ends at 11am, the price of a beer goes up to £2.50 for a Fosters and £2.70 for a John Smith’s, and the pub stays open until 1am every night. Videos posted to the site show men dancing and falling over after taking their clothes off and a beer-bellied rugby fan sipping on a pint. The Department for Health and Social Care estimated in July that the NHS spends £3.5 billion a year on alcohol-related problems of the overall £129 billion budget.
He argued that an early morning happy hour was more inclusive for punters with health problems who can’t go in the evenings. He said: ‘I’ll usually pop in for a few drinks in the morning or early afternoon and then head home’.‘I really like the atmosphere here and coming to the pub gets me out the house.’Happy hour offers are used by pubs and bars across the UK, but are usually in the early evening.
