Filmmaking legend Quentin Tarantino has slammed one record-breaking franchise, widely regarded as one of 2024's best movies.

The American filmmaker, 61, is the brain behind some of cinema’s most iconic releases, with his X-rated movies characterised by hyper-stylised violence, avant-garde editing, and extended dialogue. Having begun his career as an independent filmmaker with Reservoir Dogs in 1992, he went on to make the likes of Pulp Fiction , Kill Bill: Volume 1 , and Inglourious Basterds .
If you do one again, why are you doing the same one that they’ve done twice already? ‘I’ve seen that story twice before, and I didn’t really like it in either version, so I’m not really interested in seeing it a third time.’ ‘If you did another story, that would be interesting enough to give it a shot anyway,’ he concluded. On Shogun specifically, Tarantino added that he watched ‘all 13 hours’ in the 80s. ‘I’m good. I don’t need to see that story again; I don’t care how they do it.
