Expanding a property portfolio will be more expensive
Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves poses with the red Budget Box as she leaves 11 Downing Street in over 14 years, the first ever by a woman. Much like the Chancellor herself, this is a serious and technical Budget that will have an impact on the housing market almost immediately.
At the same time as hiking the tax that people will pay when they buy additional properties, the Chancellor has decided not to raise the tax they pay when selling. Concerned homelessness experts hope that there will be an announcement for low-income renters in next year’s spending review, or else homelessness could spike.
