National Highways urges drivers to leave additional time for their journeys to this year's air show.
Drivers heading to the RAF Cosford Air Show have been warned of increased congestion with about 13,000 vehicles expected on the roads.Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to attend and National Highways warned that most would travel by car.Special traffic measures will be put in place at junction three of the M54 near Cosford, including dedicated lanes for the event, with road users urged to pay attention to signage.
West Midlands Railway has said it would provide additional services to Cosford throughout the day but warned that the station would be very busy.This year’s theme for the sold-out show will be “take flight”, with the hope that it would kickstart people’s enthusiasm in aviation and “potentially a career in the Royal Air Force”.
As well as the demonstrations, visitors will be able to learn about the RAF’s history and the technology used by the air force.
