Simon Jordan took issue with Frank Lampard being linked with Scottish football giants Rangers, insisting the former Derby, Chelsea and Everton boss has 'failed' as a manager up until this point and shouldn't get the job.
Michael Beale was sacked earlier this week after a string of poor performances while former Gers star Kevin Muscat is also on the managerial shortlist.
Lampard has been out of work since his interim role at Chelsea expired at the end of last season, winning just one out of 11 games. The former England international was sacked by Everton in January earlier this year, as well, being replaced by Sean Dyche. But he is now one of the favourites to take over at Ibrox after holding talks with the club over becoming their new manager. The ex-Australia international spent one year with the Glasgow outfit and become renowned for his tough-tackling, even being prevented from playing the Old Firm derby because of his reputation. It is the same club Ange Postecoglou was manager of before joining Celtic and becoming a fan favourite, going on to sign for Tottenham this summer.
