The independent review of the Reserve Bank of Australia has handed 51 recommendations to Treasurer Jim Chalmers, including reforming the board, improving communication and enhancing the bank’s accountability.
“This review is all about ensuring the RBA has the right processes, structure, culture and objectives to help it make its important decisions independently,” Dr Chalmers said in a statement. “I thank the review panel – Carolyn, Renee and Gordon – for their hard work and in particular, for their thorough and extensive consultation over the last nine months.
