Rebecca Ferguson, an X Factor alum, has revealed she is in discussions to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, but it might not be for the UK. She has received offers from other countries to perform as a duet, while acknowledging the sadness of potentially representing a nation other than her own.

X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson has revealed she's in talks to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, but it might not be for the UK. The 38-year-old singer, who rose to fame on the seventh season of The X Factor in 2010, has been enjoying a successful music career with four top 10 albums and hit singles such as Nothing's Real but Love and I Hope. Now, the Liverpool-born artist could potentially perform at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland.

However, she disclosed that she might represent another country instead of the UK, the Mirror reports. During a Q&A session on TikTok, when asked by a fan if she was representing the UK at Eurovision, she responded: 'Well, I've got something to tell you... Do you know what? No one's messaged me... and I... no one's messaged me to do it, erm, but what's really interesting is I've had other offers from other countries to do Eurovision. And what they've said is, 'You can't do it on your own, but you can do it as a duet.' Rebecca Ferguson has revealed her dilemma over whether to accept offers from other countries to perform at Eurovision, despite her loyalty to the UK. She said: 'So, it's a weird one for me because I've been offered Eurovision by other countries to sing with their artist. But then I'm patriotic to me own country. But then at the same time, I'm like, 'Well, me own country hasn't asked me.' She added: 'So, yeah... I've had offers to do Eurovision, but not for the UK. Which is sad if I end up doing it with another country.' This revelation sparked excitement among fans, with one saying: 'That's mad regarding Eurovision! ' and another offering to join her on stage. Other international stars have previously participated in Eurovision for countries they're not native to, such as American rapper Flo Rida who performed with San Marino's 2021 entrant Senhit. As the contest returns to Switzerland in 2025, fans remember that Celine Dion won for the country in 1988, despite being Canadian. Rebecca's admission has led to a campaign among UK fans for her to represent the nation at the upcoming contest. Many are urging the BBC to give her the chance to compete for the UK and potentially win against her European competitors. One fan wrote: '@BBC @BBCWorld - are we seeing this fam? ' Another commented: 'I'd scream, I loved her sm back in 2012.' A third suggested: 'She has a great voice , could be an interesting choice #Eurovision.' The St. Jakobshalle arena in Basel, Switzerland, is set to host the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest in May 2025, with the grand finale scheduled for Saturday 17 May.
