The RAF display team were unable to take off from Blackpool
The Red Arrows' appearance at Southport Air Show has been called off at the last minute due to weather conditions.
The world-famous display team were due to appear at the show around lunchtime. But crowds were left disappointed after a wet runway in Blackpool made take-off conditions difficult.READ MORE: 10p flash sale train tickets to Lancashire destinations up for grabs A spokesperson for the Red Arrows said: Unfortunately, our display at Southport Air Show has been cancelled due to a very wet runway at the operating base of Blackpool Airport and low cloud, unsuitable for close formation display flying."
The pilots had been due to take to the skies at 12pm. They were also due to fly north following the Southport Air Show. It is unknown how the conditions in Blackpool will affect this.
