Following the heartbreaking news that Scottish comedian Janey Godley passed away over the weekend, the Daily Record has looked back at one particular chapter of her life.
The beloved Scottish comedian performed sold-out stand-up sets throughout the UK and was known for her large social media following. She also earned praise from legendary comics such as Sir Billy Connolly, as well as Hollywood celebrities like Mark Hamill.
She found her calling when she started performing as a comedian in the mid-1990s, known for her honest and dark humour. Before that, though, Godley had a very different profession. The pub has actually had many names over the years. As well as The Weavers Inn, older locals might remember it as the Nationalist Bar, the Crystal Bar, or O’Kane’s Bar.
