The shelters in Scarborough will get new benches and undergo refurbishment if plans are approved.
By Anttoni James NumminenTwo landmark seafront shelters in Scarborough are to undergo repairs as part of a plan to improve the site.
The new plans would see the replacement of 21 benches and iron railings in a "like-for-like replacement" as well as repairs to ceramic bricks.Plans for the repairs were originally proposed by Scarborough Council in February, but after the authority was abolished in April the decision passed to North Yorkshire Council's planning committee.
The official listing by Historic England states that the benches and railings "are not of special architectural or historic interest".
