The 'Never Gonna Give You Up' singer took a break from music in 1993
Rick Astley shot to fame in the 1980s with his hit single 'Never Gonna Give You Up' and ever since has been in the spotlight releasing a number of other popular songs including 'Together Forever'. These are songs that have helped cement Rick's place in music history. Although the 58-year-old singer may be a household name he wasn't always performing his hit songs and in the 1990s he decided to take a step back from the music industry.
' He also confessed to feeling guilty for not enjoying his pop star status, saying: 'And I felt guilty because I was an '80s pop star, I should be loving it but I kind of felt it’s just time to walk away.' Rick returned to the limelight in 2001 with his LP 'Keep It Turned On' and regained his place in the spotlight with his first compilation album 'Greatest Hits' a year later.
