Latest information from the Business Debt Advisor’s Beverley Budsworth – administrator of Preston Guild Hall Ltd, reveal the Rigby Estate are no longer pursuing legal action against the local authority in the ongoing legal wrangling.Preston City Council for comment on the latest decision, a spokesperson reiterated their inability to respond. They said: “I’m afraid we cannot comment on ongoing litigation.

The other 12 businesses who were operating in the Arcade are pursuant that the Council taking control of the building was and is ‘unlawful’ and that they are wholly responsible for the damages created since the take-over and long-term closure of the landmark venue. Amounting to the legal wrangles, a separate trial will take place from Monday 20 March, where businesses will actively seek an order to restore possessions of the Guild Hall and damages from the losses incurred.
