The charity said the beach is the only one in the country that is monitored all year round
The RNLI has responded to people's demands after a petition was launched following the disappearance of a 14-year-old boy in the River Mersey.
Following the tragic incident, the people of Crosby and the surrounding area started a petition asking the RNLI to introduce longer hours for lifeguards. The petition said: "This petition holds a deeply personal significance, and originates from an urgent concern for public safety. Over the course of the past two years, two tragic and preventable losses have occurred on Crosby Beach and in the Waterloo marina lake.
"We firmly believe that the presence of lifeguards during these peak times could have possibly prevented these tragic events, and will undeniably contribute to avoiding such incidents in the future. We ask our local council and the relevant authorities to urgently address this issue and ensure proper safety measures including the presence of lifeguards at Crosby Beach and the water marina from June through September.
