The Savannah Bananas, an exhibition baseball team based in Savannah, Ga., made their debut in an stadium Saturday night at Minute Maid Park in Houston. They faced an archrival, the Party Animals, as part of their 2024 Banana Ball World Tour. Beyond the yellow jerseys and the raucous crowd, the Bananas included two legendary pitchers on their roster.
Clemens got out of the inning when a slow roller came back to him and he underhanded a throw to first base. He pitched a third of an inning, giving up three hits. Five runs were scored with him in the game, two of which were inherited runs. Clemens walked toward the dugout and high-fived his Bananas teammates. In the top of the sixth with two outs, Roy Oswalt, a three-time All-Star, also pitched a third of an inning, giving up one run on three hits. He ended the inning with a strikeout.
