Former New Zealand Warriors captain to return to former club in 2024 after three year stint with Auckland Blues
midway through 2021 after signing to play rugby union with the Auckland-based Blues before making his All Blacks debut last year.
“When he went to rugby union he did so knowing he was always welcome back here if he wished to return to rugby league. We couldn’t be more delighted it’s happening,” George said. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck scored a two tries for the Kiwis in New Zealand’s epic Rugby League World Cup semi-final victory over England at Wembley in 2013.Tuivasa-Sheck is recognised as one of the game’s most dangerous players when at his best, claiming the Dally M medal in 2018. He will rejoin a Warriors team that is on the up after they spent the best part of three years in Australia due to Covid-19.
“That first year was cut short by his ACL injury but it was brilliant working with him. I’m super excited knowing he’s coming back to the club.”A NRL premiership-winner at the Sydney Roosters, Tuivasa-Sheck has not turned out for the Blues since March after suffering a hand injury.
