A 'rogue' corner shop in north Manchester has been closed down over the sale of illegal fireworks and tobacco.

When Trading Standards officers raided the premises on November 7, they found fireworks for sale, despite the shop not being licensed, illicit tobacco and a a canister of CS gas. The tobacco and fireworks were seized by officers. Manchester council say police have also made several arrests relating to drugs offences connected to the store.

The shop will have to remain closed for three-months. Manchester council deputy leader Garry Bridges said: "We know how unpleasant it can be to experience anti-social behaviour.
