Boyzone star Ronan Keating's marriage to Yvonne Connolly broke down after he had an affair with a backing dancer - and she discovered the infidelity in a very simple way
Ronan Keating and his first wife Yvonne Connolly were all set to start a new chapter in their lives back in 2010. After 12 years of wedded bliss and three kids, they had just accepted an offer on their dream £3.5million mansion near Dublin.
Taking matters into her own hands, Yvonne dialled the mystery number and discovered through the answering machine message that it belonged to Francine Cornell, then 26, a Boyzone backing dancer who had allegedly been secretly seeing Ronan for seven months. But mere days later, he reportedly called it quits with Francine to get back with Yvonne, telling her over the phone they had to cut off all contact. Imagine the surprise when, a month later, Yvonne asked Francine to meet at a London hotel.
"When I look back, this is what it all boils down to: it was basically two girls in love with the same boy who over a five-hour conversation realised that that boy was not who we thought he was." After the incident, Ronan and Yvonne did eventually move into their new home, trying hard for a year to repair their marriage. In a heartfelt confession on his 2010 solo album Duet, Ronan made use of the sleeve notes to send an apologetic message to his spouse, whom he had wed in their early twenties. "You are the most incredible, inspirational woman I have ever met," he wrote.
Tying the knot in a stunning Scottish ceremony in 2015, Ronan and Storm have since been blessed with two adorable children, Cooper, seven, and Coco, four.
