Ahead of his Week 1 game against the Seahawks, Russell Wilson says he will think about the memories from his decade in Seattle. “Seattle will always mean the world to me. It will forever be home to me.'
’s schedule-makers wasted little time pitting Wilson against his old team. In his first game with the Broncos, Wilson will play in a stadium, Lumen Field, that was his home from 2012, the year he was selected by Seattle in the third round of the NFL Draft, through last season. It’s a place where he went 57-21 as a starter and threw 156 touchdown passes. A place where he won five playoff games, including two NFC championships.
“At the end of the day, hopefully after 10 years of trying to make a difference there and winning a lot of football games and us doing it all together, I think that was really special,” Wilson said. “Seattle will always mean the world to me. It will forever be home to me. It will always be a special place in my heart, obviously.”
“I’m leaving it up to the 12s,” Carroll said, referring to the nickname for Seattle’s home crowd. “It’s game time and we’re going for it, so however they take it, I’ll take their lead on that.”before the 2018 draft to discuss a trade that would have sent Wilson to Cleveland in exchange for the No. 1 pick. The quarterback was asked whether he was upset by that development.
Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett was asked to address a front-office source from the same report who contended that Wilson is “a descending player,” citing concerns about his mobility. Hackett dismissed the notion.
