'We hope that the current situation settles and allows us to reopen before too long'

'Heartbroken' diners at a popular Preston pub and restaurant have responded to its shock closure this week.

The owners said: "It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing The Pickled Goose has had to close its doors for the foreseeable future. The past couple of years has been tough on so many businesses like ours and in the last few months we have seen a huge increase in our energy costs, which unfortunately leaves us with no alternative but to close."We hope that the current situation settles and allows us to reopen before too long.

Janet McMullan Bodie said: "This is so sad...such a wonderful restaurant. Good luck to you all for the future xx" Ruth Fairbairn said: "Awwww no.....we are so sorry to hear such sad news! We we have celebrated a wedding & birthdays at the Pickled Goose and have always had brilliant service and excellent food. We sincerely hope you can reopen in the non too distant future."
