While the two former health secretaries declared separate bids on Saturday night both revealed they would slash corporation tax
would launch a bid to become next Conservative leader after flying back to the UK.
Ms Truss had cut short an official trip to Indonesia on Thursday when Boris Johnson announced his resignation outside Number 10.The newspaper said she would reverse the Government’s national insurance rise, cut corporation tax and introduce measures to ease the cost- of-living crisis when she announces her campaign, possibly on Monday.
Chief Secretary to the Treasury Simon Clarke who also writes in the Telegraph, revealed he backs Mr Truss to become leader, and saying “she’s tough on our enemies abroad, will seize the opportunities of Brexit and has a strong record of delivery.”
