Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski, 68, and Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, were charged with murder on Monday and appeared at Manchester Crown Court today.

A murdered pensioner whose butchered torso and remains were dumped across Manchester was barely seen by his neighbours, who felt there was 'nobody living in the house'.

Neighbours say the home, where Mr Everett had resided for at least six years, has always been eerily quiet with the people in it seen rarely on the road. 'A lot of us don't want to say anything out of respect for the man's family but to be truthful I don't think anyone knows very much.' The series of gruesome discoveries began on April 4 when a local found a lower back, buttocks and thigh wrapped in cellophane in Kersal Dale Wetlands. And just one day later, on Sunday, body parts were also found by divers in nearby Blackleach Reservoir.

Detective Superintendent Lewis Hughes from GMP's Serious Crime Division, added: 'My thoughts and the thoughts of officers and staff across Greater Manchester Police are with Stuart's family at this traumatic time. Family Liaison Officers are supporting them through each update in our investigation. Speaking of the investigation, Detective Superintendent Hughes said: 'We have painstakingly worked to follow up every line of inquiry in this investigation.
