Salvage Hunters star Drew Pritchard has opened up about his views on other antiques-themed TV shows, including the BBC's Antiques Roadshow and the American series American Pickers
Drew Pritchard, the familiar face of Salvage Hunters, recently shared his perspective on other antiques-themed television series such as BBC's Antiques Roadshow and the American programme American Pickers. Pritchard travels across the UK to find hidden gems in establishments, events, and historic properties which he then sells through his online shop.
He also mentioned his personal connections to the programme, stating, "I've got lots of friends of mine who are on there. John Foster, and Marc Allum, who are friends of mine, who are specialists on the Antiques Roadshow." The Antiques Roadshow has been a central part of BBC's offerings, where appraisers analyse items brought by the public. Launched in 1979, the programme's experts have evaluated diverse artefacts, covering objects like furniture, artworks, and ornaments, shedding light on their history and prospective auction values.
He remarked on the parallels between their pursuits: "American Pickers and what I do is very similar. A similar programme," further commenting on his interactions with Wolfe, "I've spoken to Mike and we've exchanged pleasantries."
