San Marcos officials say they expect FEMA will reimburse the city for cleanup costs following a storm that battered San Marcos on May 9.

The San Marcos City Council has budgeted $750,000 toward the city’s cleanup efforts after a powerful storm system swept through the area two weeks ago. The storm, which struck on the evening of May 9, battered parts of the Hill Country with hail and high winds. It caused more than $1 million in damage in Hays County , according to county officials. Central San Marcos was among the hardest-hit areas.

Bandera County murder suspect arrested in Oklahoma The City Council on Tuesday approved expenditures of $300,000 to Ceres Environmental for debris removal, $250,000 to DebrisTech for debris identification and monitoring, and $200,000 to TDS for debris disposal. City officials said they expect the costs will be reimbursed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
