Explore the charming Sarang Korean Cafe in Glasgow, a hidden gem offering a fusion of traditional Korean flavors and modern twists. From delectable pastries and specialty drinks to tempting Korean snacks and fusion dishes, this cafe is a must-visit for both Korean cuisine enthusiasts and those seeking a unique dining experience.

With South Korean culture being the latest big trend to hit these shores, Glasgow is now home to some cracking food spots specializing in cuisine from this wonderful country. While food spots like Bibimbap and Namu Korean Kitchen have been taking the city's restaurant scene by storm, we recently took a wee trip to a lesser known, but no less worthy of visiting, Korean eatery in the city centre.

Since we first saw the pink-fronted signage appear for Sarang Korean Cafe appear on Hope Street in spring last year, we've been desperate to pop along and try it. With it recently being the Lunar New Year, we had the ideal excuse to make our way over one busy Tuesday lunchtime, here is how we got on. What's it like? The pastel pink and emerald green exterior sits across from the Pot Still and hides an adorable interior, manned by the welcoming staff. Spacious and very aesthetically pleasing, the cafe is clearly a great place to while away an afternoon working remotely or even better, blethering with mates. Offering 'freshly baked goods, coffee, Korean style drinks and traditional tea', we couldn't wait to try what was on offer. What can you get? Though it may look like a coffee shop as it does live up to the cafe name offering not only a range of hot and cold brewed drinks but also traditional (and modern as you'll soon see) Korean snacks. As well as regular coffees you can also enjoy a range of specialist drinks like the ruby latte (ruby chocolate and berry), peach iced tea and a soy bean latte, as well as a selection of delicious looking cakes and bakes. For food, they also do Kimbap (a Korean dish of cooked rice, vegetables, and other ingredients rolled in dried seaweed sheets), sandwiches and K-Yachae toast. What did you get? After asking the friendly staff for advice on what to get, we settled on the green tea latte and the frozen soybean latte and of course, we just had to try the Korean sausage croissant. The interesting thing about Korean cuisine is that alongside traditional dishes they also excel at doing fusion and one ideal example is the brilliant Korean sausage croissant with sweetcorn and cheese. One of those dishes you really don't expect but also one that not only works, but is greater than the sum of its parts. The verdict This place is not only cute and cosy, but welcoming and filled with fun touches ( they even offer a range of merch K-pop fans will love like BTS socks). Fans of Korean culture will feel right at home, but don't worry if you are new to all this, they are so welcoming it won't be long until you are caught up in all the fun.
