Contractors will be off for the Glasgow Fair fortnight but council officials will check the site daily.
Work on the almost £6 million makeover of Sauchiehall Street is set to be put on hold for the Glasgow Fair holiday.
However, the council has said the project will “revitalise this famous strength of the city centre and make it a more pleasant and attractive place to spend time”. A council spokesman said the holiday period “won’t affect the programme of works for the project, with most of this to be delivered by the end of 2024”.
