The Met Office has ramped up its rain warning for Tuesday April 9 and issued a fresh one for the following day, warning Scots to take care when travelling.
People in Scotland have been braced for another few days of very rainy weather which could potentially lead to fast-flowing floods and travel disruption in certain areas.
The rain alert for tomorrow warns of potential deep and fast-flowing flood water causing damage to homes and businesses, with communities being temporarily cut off by flooding roads. This is more likely in southern Scotland and the south of the Central Lowlands. The Met Office said: "Rain will become heavier across parts of Scotland overnight Monday into Tuesday before clearing away into the North Sea on Tuesday afternoon or evening. The rain could be heavy and persistent in places, with some areas seeing 20-40 mm of rain, and a chance that one or two spots could see 50-60 mm; these higher totals now seem more likely in the south of the warning area, roughly to the south of a line Glasgow to Edinburgh.
