Following a day of warnings due to Storm Kathleen in the central belt and west of Scotland, the north will experience a spell of blustery gales on Sunday April 7.
Several areas in the north of Scotland have been placed under a warning for strong winds following the arrival of Storm Kathleen - the 11th named storm of the season - this weekend.
And now, a fresh alert has been issued by the Met Office for Sunday, April 7, reaching areas in the north that previously were not covered by Saturday's yellow warning. Forecasters warned that 'windy, blustery conditions' reaching up to 60mh paired with 'frequent squally showers' have the potential to wreak havoc when it comes to travel, and people have been advised to prepare and expect delays.
Public transport routes may also be delayed, with coastal communities potentially affected by sea spray and large waves due to the wild weather. It could also knock out the power and other services for a short time.
