The winners of the prestigious Scottish Fish and Chip Awards have been revealed, with chippies across the country taking home top prizes at the annual ceremony.
On Monday, the annual Scottish Fish and Chip Awards took place in Glasgow . The ceremony celebrated the top chippies and takeaways in the country across a range of categories.
The Best Chip Shop awards for the South, East, North, West, and Central regions went to Alfonso's in Earlston, East Coast Eateries in Musselburgh, Frankie’s Fish and Chips in Shetland, The Kraken Chippy in East Kilbride, and Vincenzo’s Fish and Chips in Stirling. Meanwhile, the top gongs for Best Chip Shop , Best Chip Shop , and Best Chip Shop went to McKays Fish & Chip Shop in Pitlochry, The Principal Cafe in Galston, and The Seaforth in Ullapool respectively.
Among the other winners at the Scottish Fish and Chip Awards were Hayston Golf Club in Kirkintilloch and Valerios Fish & Chips in Lanark, which were awarded Best Fish Tea and Best Customer Service respectively. Meanwhile, The Angry Seagull Fish & Chips in Inverness took home the gong for Best Mobile Fish & Chips and Berties in Edinburgh won Best Dine in Restaurant.
Organiser Warren Paul commented: "Each year we celebrate the very best in what has always been the classic takeaway – fish and chips. We bring together entrants from all over Scotland showcasing people who are really trying to offer quality – using great ingredients and really going the extra mile to give the very best food to their customers.
