The defect was discovered between Caldercruix and Drumgelloch, in North Lanarkshire, with both lines currently closed by Network Rail Scotland. The disruption is set to last all day.
A number of ScotRail services have been disrupted this morning, Sunday April 21, after a sinkhole was spotted.
