Scotland’s new benefits agency took over half an hour to answer nearly 90,000 calls in a year
One claimant had to wait more than three hours before getting through to the hotline.“With the rise in the cost of living and increasing financial uncertainty, it has never been more important for people’s social security concerns to be addressed quickly and efficiently.”
The agency was asked for call wait times over several years, but instead provided figures between last year and February 2023. “Ultimately it’s now for Humza Yousaf to show how this SNP Government will be able to ensure Social Security Scotland has the capacity to answer people’s urgent queries when they need help the most.”
